For me, making a viewing art is a chance to escape some of the ordinariness of life and take a chance on seeing something new. This may be especially true with abstract images. My images come from illustrating my thoughts and putting them on paper with the printmaking techniques of etching lithography and woodcut. In creating my images I put together lines, shapes, colors and textures until the composition reinvents an idea or feeling I've had. I also enjoy the intimacy of a small format, often 3 x 4 in (7 x 10 cm) but up to 12 x 18 in (30 x 45 cm)
