ETCHINGS
In making an etching, I draw the image on a copper plate with something that resists the plate being bitten then put the plate in a bath of ferric chloride to let the exposed areas of copper be bitten to different depths, an hour or more. To print, I will press ink into the deeper levels and roll ink on the upper levels, put paper on top, and then run it through a press. This allows me to create a multiple color image with just one plate.
